FOURTH EDITION “TEMPRANILLOS AL MUNDO” IN FRANCE The Spanish Federation of Enologists (Federación Española de Enólogos, FEAE) convokes the fourth edition of the International Itinerant Wine Competition Tempranillos al Mundo.
The contest will be held in Paris (France) from 3rd to 6th June 2008 under the patronage of the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV), with the cooperation of the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade (ICEX). The innovative concept developed by Tempranillos al Mundo is its itinerant character taking place each year in a different country. The 2007 Edition was organised in Shanghai (China) and registered 415 entries from different tempranillo wine-growing regions of the world such as Spain, Portugal, Argentina, Australia, Brasil, Greece, France, United States... The aims of the competition are: demonstrating the œnological quality of the grape variety Tempranillo and its synonymies, showing them to international consumers, dealers and international press, displaying the different type of wines made out from this variety, awarding the efforts of producers and enologists, taking care to diffuse the results properly. In Paris, during two days, the wines will be tasted and judged in blind tasting sessions, by enologists, specialized wine journalists, sommeliers as well as restaurant owners, and significant importers, in a proportion of half French wine professionals and half Spanish and international experts (Argentina, Canada, France, Portugal...). The competition will be reported widely in the specialised media and furthermore, as soon as the contest results will be worked out, the award-winner wines will be announced in an event gathering the wine press, professionals and connoisseurs for a tasting of the award-winner wines.
