The Spanish Federation of Associations of Enologists (FEAE), with the cooperation of the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade, sponsored by the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV) and the acknowledgement of the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, organizes the “Internacional Itinerant Wine Competition Tempranillos al Mundo” in order to demonstrate the enological quality of the grape variety Tempranillo and its synonymies (SEE SYNONYMIES), show it to international consumers and dealers, display the different type of wines made out from this variety and award the efforts of producers and enologists.

The FEAE celebrates the Internacional Itinerant Wine Competition "Tempranillos al Mundo", ensuring compliance with the regulations of the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV) and of the International Union of Enologists (UIŒ). It will be held in Paris (France) from 3^rd to 6^th June 2008.

The aims of the competition are:

• To support the production of high quality wines based on Tempranillo.

• To support the quality measures undertaken by Tempranillo producers throughout the world.

• To showcase the diversity and richness of Tempranillo currently being made.

• To encourage a quality approach in the organisation of qualitative wine competitions by improving tasters' knowledge of Tempranillo.

• To contribute with the popularization and the expansion of wine and its culture.

The International Wine Competition will be developed under the rules published in this web site, following the regulations of the OIV and the UIΠin this matters as well.
